PROFESSIONAL TOOLS : Lighting Experience Design Takes Flight

Join us as we explore an approach to lighting experience design in one of the most confined and stressful places on earth ... the airplane. This approach is one that is deeply rooted in the needs, desires, and cultural fabric of people. Bernadette Berger will discuss the importance of an empathetic understanding of the users, and how these needs can change over time. Moving beyond quantitative measures, we will look at examples of experiential measures of success as guiding principles. The lighting experience designer can then fail, iterate, and innovate by removing titles and trading hats often. Bernadette will share examples of how thinking through making can open up possibilities for exploratory discovery and insightful solutions. You will walk away with a clear outline of how lighting experience design can influence your practice, and a new perspective on the crucial, but supportive role lighting has to play in holistically designed experiences.
